Welcome to JeremyBufford.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit this site.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

  • No account registration or passwords on this site.
  • No marketing email list signup on free PDF downloads (download is immediate; no form).
  • No ad-retargeting networks. Google Ads conversion is fired only when you click an Amazon buy button on a book page, so we can tell whether ads led to a store visit. It is not used to build a remarketing audience.

3. Information We Collect

  • Log data: IP addresses, browser type, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps for security and basic site operations.
  • Free PDF downloads: When you use a free-download link (for example The Importance of Entropy), the server records the time, IP address, browser user-agent, and HTTP referer, and may email that notice to the site operator so they know the guide is being read. No name or email address is collected from you for that download unless you separately contact the operator.
  • The Arcade: Insert Coin sets an HttpOnly cookie (arcade_pass) that proves a 30-day collection pass. Checkout identifiers and payment method are stored so a paid session can be fulfilled. Card data is handled by Stripe, not this site.
  • $1 ebooks: Some book pages offer EPUB and PDF from this site for one US dollar, in addition to Amazon. You choose card, Lightning, Bitcoin, or Tether on this site. Card checkout is Stripe via pay.jeremybufford.com (card data is handled by Stripe). Crypto is sent to the addresses shown for that checkout. After payment this site sets an HttpOnly cookie (jb_ebook, path /ebooks only, no parent domain) so you can download your files. The server may record time, IP, user-agent, referer, payment method, and which title was purchased, and may email the operator a fulfillment notice (no marketing list). This is a personal-use license, not DRM, and not Kindle Unlimited.
  • Radio: Listening to Jeremy Bufford Radio creates ordinary web-server and stream logs (time, IP address, user-agent). The player does not require an account. Now-playing metadata is the tags on the file currently encoded, not information about you.
  • Google Analytics: This site uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to measure aggregate traffic and how pages are used. Google may set cookies (such as _ga and related identifiers) and collect data including page views, device and browser type, referring site, and approximate location derived from IP address. That data is processed by Google under its terms and policies. See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Security: Monitor and prevent threats.
  • Operations: Keep the site available and healthy.
  • Download awareness: Understand reach of free educational PDFs (not sold or shared for advertising).
  • Analytics: Understand which pages are read and improve the site. Analytics data is not sold as a marketing list.

5. Data Retention

Log data is retained only as necessary, unless required by law.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable measures to protect data, though no method is 100% secure.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

This site uses Google Analytics as described above. It also links to Amazon and other external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of linked websites or of Google beyond what is disclosed here. Purchases on Amazon are governed by Amazon’s policies. Direct ebook payments are processed by Stripe.

8. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

6. The Arcade

The Arcade is a paid collection pass: one payment grants about 30 days of play across the cabinet of titles hosted at /arcade/. You are buying access to the collection, not a license to any individual program. Historical shareware and other third-party titles remain the property of their authors; original registration or copyright notices still apply.

  • The pass is stored as an HttpOnly cookie (arcade_pass) in your browser. Clearing cookies ends access on that device.
  • Card payments are processed by Stripe. Lightning, Bitcoin, and USDT instructions may also be offered. We record checkout identifiers and may email the operator when a payment is posted or a pass is minted (time, method, checkout id — not your card number).
  • Play URLs under /arcade/play/ require a valid, unexpired pass. They are not in the public sitemap.
  • Passes are not transferable and are not a subscription; buy again when they expire if you want another 30 days.

7. Radio

Jeremy Bufford Radio is an internet stream at /radio/. The encoder runs on the same host as this site. A country label is not a copyright license and does not waive rules that apply to the operator or to a listener’s own country.

  • The catalog is operator-supplied audio.
  • The stream URL is not a download store. Do not treat it as a file locker.
  • The public sitemap includes the player page, not the raw stream mount.

8. Changes to Terms

Terms may be revised; check periodically.

No authority requests for user information have been received.
